In the sand and gravel business it is frequently necessary to wash the extracted material. This washing process generates a large amount of water contaminated with fine particles.

In the past, these bodies of water were frequently discharged into large basins where fine particle sedimentation was to take place under gravity.

This process requires a large surface area and a large body of water, as the fine particles only settle very slowly.
In particular in times of increasingly stringent requirements in the field of environmental sustainability, the use of large areas often poses a problem.

ITE GmbH is able to supply systems which dispense with these settlement basins. Combined process engineering embracing hydro vacuum cyclones, thickeners and centrifuges provides the possibility of operating a closed-loop cycle, while guaranteeing optimum treatment of the contaminated water.
